1 Cup Butter
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
2 Eggs
2 Teaspoons Vanilla
3/4 Cup Sour Cream
4 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon Soda
3/4 Teaspoon Salt
3/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter & sugar. Add eggs & vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and alternately add them with the sour cream. Chill dough several hours before rolling and cutting. Dough will be quite soft, so use lots of flour!
Bake at 350 for about 13 minutes-depending on how thick the dough is rolled. Sprinkle with sugar if desired. Cookies will start turning brown at edges. Smaller sized cutouts will need less baking time.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I like these cookies frosted. Combine about 2 oz cream cheese with 1/2 cup butter. Add about 2 cups powdered sugar and thin with a little milk. Tint with food color. Let dry thoroughly before storing.
