1 c. sugar
1/2 c. softened butter
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 egg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 T. milk
1/2 c. sliced almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and butter, add almond flavoring and egg, then dry ingredients. Divide dough into four parts. Roll each part into a 12" X 3" rectangle. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. (I have found it is easier to roll it right onto the cookie sheet) Brush with milk and sprinkle almonds on top. Bake at 325 until firm and the edges are slightly golden. (about 15 min. watch so they don't burn) Cool for about 5 min. then cut diagonally with a pizza cutter into about 1 1/2 inch strips. When cooled, drizzle with icing. 1 C powder sugar, 1/4 tsp. almond extract 1 - 2 T. milk
