two 6 1/2 oz cans clams (minced and chopped)
1 cup finely chopped celery
1 cup finely chopped onions
2 cups boiled and chopped potatoes
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup butter (or less)
3/4 cup flour
1 qt half and half (can use whole milk)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
dash of pepper (or more)

Directions:
Drain clams and saute chopped onions and celery in clam juice. Add water and let simmer for 20 mins. Melt butter and mix with flour. Heat on stove and add half and half. Stir until smooth and thick. Add clams, veggies, salt, sugar, and pepper. Heat through and serve hot.

This is JD's mom's recipe. I like to double it and add more clams, less butter, 4 cups milk, and some seasoned salt. Delicious.
