1 box raisins
2 cups cold water
2c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 tsp.salt
2 tsp. cloves
2tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. soda
4 c. flour

Directions:
Stew raisins in 2 c. water . Remove from heat and add 1 cup cold water.
Cream sugar and shortening
Sift together dry ingredient add with raisins. Beat thoroughly and bake in a 9x13x2 in. pan at 325º for 35 to 40 min. Chopped walnuts are optional
