2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
*3 T. sour milk or buttermilk
1 c. mashed bananas
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)

*substitute 2 Tbsp fresh milk +1 tsp lemon juice

Grease 1 loaf pan or 3 small ones. Mix all ingredients together. Pour into loaf pan and bake for 1 hour in 350 oven.
