"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Maple Syrup, by Kristen Baker, is from At The Roylance's Table,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
4 cups sugar 2 cups water 3 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp maple flavoring 1 tsp vanilla
Boil sugars and water together; reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add maple flavoring and vanilla. Serve warm over pancakes, french toast or waffles. Store unused syrup in cupboard at room temperature.
My sister, Lindsay, always has homemade maple syrup. She got this recipe from her mother-in-law, Janice Gonzales.
