1 lp. lean ground beef, 1/4 lb medium noodles cooked (your choice), 1 tbsp butter or margarine, 1 tbsp salad oil, 2 med. onions chopped, 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/4 tsp dried thyme, 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup, 2 eggs beaten, 1/4 c milk, 3/4 c grated chedder cheese

Heat butter and oil in heavy skillet and saute the onions lightly. Put in a bowl, cook meat in skillet. Break up meat in loose chunks as it cooks. Add seasoning. When meat is cooked but not browned, add cooked onions. In a casserole dish, make layers of 1/3 of the noodles, 1/2 of the meat and half of the soup. Repeat layering one more time with the 3 previous ingredients. Mix beaten eggs with milk and pour over the layers. Top with cheese, bake in oven at 350 for 35-40 min, or until golden brown and bubbly. Serves 8
