1/3 c salad oil
2 sliced medium onions
1 minced small clove garlic
1 dozen wieners, sliced 1/2 inch thick
1 1/2 pitted ripe olives
2 c drained kidney or pinto beans
3 c drained, whole kernel hominy
1 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp salt or celery salt
1 3/4 c of tomato juice
1 1/2 c grated cheese
buttered french bread slices

Directions:

Early in the day: saute onions and garlic in oil till golden. Add wieners and saute 5 minutes. Meanwhile slice olives. Add these to wieners along with beans, hominy, chili, salt and tomato juice. Heat to boiling. Blend in cgeese. Turn into a 12x8x2" baking dish. Refrigerate till 1 hour before dinner. Preheat oven to 400. Cover caaerole with bread, and bake for 40 minutes. If you shorten up the preperation to right before meal time, shorten the heating time to 20 minutes.
