1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups molasses
1/4 cup sugar
4 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons ginger
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients well and chill. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Cool on racks.
