2 C sugar
1 1/4 C Karo syrup
2 C whipping cream
1/2 C milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cream and milk in a bowl. Put 1/2 in heavy pan (dutch oven) and add sugar, salt, and karo. Cook on fairly low heat for 30 minutes until pale beige color. Turn heat up and add 1/2 remaining mixture -- don't let mixture stop boiling. Add remaining cream and milk mixture 15 minutes later and let cook to firm soft ball stage -- 230 to 234. Don't stir after last addition. Pour into buttered 9 inch square pan.
