"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Nutty Green Bean, by Pat Roylance, is from At The Roylance's Table,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
Green Beans (Home canned are best) Butter Nuts of your choice, chopped. We like almonds, walnuts or pecans.
Heat beans in a separate pan. In small fry pan, melt butter. When butter is lightly browned add chopped nuts and shake or stir until nuts are starting to take on a golden brown color. Add to beans just before serving.
Simple, but you will be amazed at how good the beans are with the nuts. My aunt made beans this way. Delicious!
