Toffee Bars Recipe

2 sticks butter or margerine
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 large egg yolk
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
4 hershey bars
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Mix butter (margerine) brown sugar, vanilla and egg yolk in large bowl
Stir in flour and salt
Press dough in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 pan
Bake 25 minutes @ 350 or until very light brown
Immediately put broken pieces of hershey bar on hot cookies
Let stand about 5 minutes or until soft, spread evenly
Sprinkle with nuts
Cool for 30 minutes, cut into 2 x 1 1/2 pieces while warm
