CHOCOLATE BIRTHDAY CAKE:
2 c. Sugar
1 3/4 c. All Purpose Flour
3/4 c. Hershey's Cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Salt
2 Eggs
1 c. Milk
1/2 c. Vegetable Oil
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 c. Boiling Water

BUTTER CREAM FROSTING:
1 c. Milk
2 tbsp. Cornstarch
1 c. Sugar
2 Sticks Butter - Room Temperature
1 tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Heat oven to 350. Grease and flour two (2) round 9 X 11 X 2" or rectangular 13 X 9 X 2" cake pans.

In a large mixing bowl combine dry ingredients. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for two (2) minutes, remove from mixer, stir in boiling water. (Batter will be thin)

Pour into prepared pans. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes for round pan, 35 to 40 minutes for rectangular pan or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake in rounds for 10 minutes.

Remove from pans, cool completely. Do not remove cake from rectangular pan. Frost.

BUTTER CREAM FROSTING:
Cook milk and cornstarch in a double boiler until thickened. Cool. Combine sugar, butter and vanilla with mixer. Add cooled milk mixture and beat until smooth.
