2 lb beef franks, 1 lg onion finely chopped, 2 (15 oz) cans Chile with beans or without, 1 T chili powder, 1/4 lb grated cheddar or Colby cheese(reserved)

Directions:
Directions:
Place first four ingredients in duch oven and cover, cook at low heat (for a #12 duch oven use 6 coals under the oven and 12 on top) for 4 to 6 hours, or cook at high temp (9 coals under the oven and 15 on top) for 2 hours. You will have to rotate cold coals out and replace with fresh ones throughout the cooking time. Just before serving add cheese to top and let melt.

Serve franks on buns or rolls and spoon sauce on top.

Can also be done in a slow cooker on low heat. May use venison dogs if preferred.

May serve 10 to 20 people.
