3 lbs prepared lutefisk
3 qts boiling water
2 tsp salt
1 cheese cloth
1 lb melted butter
White sauce:
2 tbs butter, melted
1/4 c flour
2 c milk
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
In soup kettle bring water to boil with the 2 tsp salt. Wrap the lutefisk in cheese cloth. Submerge in the boiling water. When the water comes to a boil, turn off and let sit for 8 minutes.

In small sauce pan melt 2 tbs butter over medium heat and stir in flour to make a rue. Add milk and continue cooking/stirring until it thickens. Add the
salt, garlic and pepper.

Remove from the cheese cloth and place in serviing dish. Pull any skin that remains off. Serve with melted butter and/or white sauce.
