1/2 c. mashed potatoes 1 pkg. yeast 1/2 c. shortening 2 c. flour 1/3 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 c. scalded milk 1 tsp. baking soda
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Combine ingredients and beat with mixer till fluffy. Add an additional 3 1/2 cup flour to make soft dough. Knead well. Put in container and leave in refrigerator until cool or overnight. Cut off small pieces and let rest 5 to 15 min. Deep fry.
