2 sticks margarine (Mazzola if possible), softened
3 c. granulated sugar
4 whole eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. flour unsifted

Directions:
Directions:
Mix margarine and sugar in electric mixer until creamy and not grainy. Scrape side during mixing. Add eggs one at a time, beating two minutes between additions. Blend dry ingredients and add alternating with buttermilk. Mix but do not overbeat at this time. Spray tube pan with Baker's Joy and spoon batter into pan. Place in 350 oven and bake for 60 minutes, testing for doneness at 55 minutes. When done, remove to cooling rack.
