1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. margarine or butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt

1 c. chopped english or black walnuts
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350degrees. Cream the butter and sugar. Add vanilla and egg. Slowly mix in flour, soda, and salt. Shape dough into 1" balls. Mix topping ingredients in a separate bowl. Place balls of cookie dough about 2" apart on cookie sheet. Make a well with your thumb in the center and fill with 1 teaspoon of the topping. Bake 10--14 minutes. Let cool briefly before lifting from cookie sheet to rack to cool.
