1 German chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk, divided (1/3 c. X 2)
50 caramels (buy extra for the cook to eat)
1 (6 oz.) package chocolate chips
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts, divided

Directions:

Mix cake mix, butter, vanilla, 1/2 of evaporated milk; jump up and down; then add 1 c. nuts. Put 1/2 of mixture into a 9 x 13" greased and floured pan. Stand on one leg while the mixture is baking at 350 F for 8 minutes. Melt the caramels (last chance to eat some) and rest of milk in the microwave. Place chocolate chips on top of the baked cake and pour caramel mixture on top of the chips. Scoop the remaining cake mixture on top of the caramel, sprinkle remaining 1/2 c. of nuts on cake mixture. Bake at 350 F for 18-20 minutes while standing on other leg. Cool for 1 hour in refrigerator to set the caramel.
