1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. oats
1 egg; slightly beaten
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. maple syrup
1 tbsp. margarine; softened
1/4 c. powdered sugar; sifted
1 tbsp. maple syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Mix in oats. In a small bowl mix together egg, milk, and 1/2 cup maple syrup. Add to oat mixture; mixing just until moistened; batter will be lumpy. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake in a preheated 400 oven for 18-20 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Mix together margarine, powdered sugar and 1 tbsp. maple syrup. Drizzle over muffins.
