8 slices bacon, diced
1/2 cup sliced green onions, and greens
3-4 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp flour
Salt and Pepper
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup cider vinegar
8 cups torn leaf lettuce, rinsed and toweled to remove excess water
1 egg, hard cooked, optional

Directions:
Directions:
In large skillet over medium heat, fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon, drain. Reserve 3 tablespoons bacon drippings in skillet.

In large bowl, place lettuce, onions and bacon. Salt and pepper for seasoning.

In pan with bacon drippings, over medium heat, add sugar and salt/pepper, blend well and cook until mixture is smooth and bubbly, stirring constantly. Gradually add water and vinegar, bring to a boil, stirring for 1 minute.

Remove from heat and cool slightly. Pour over lettuce mixture, toss until leaves are coated and slightly wilted. Spoon into serving dish and add chopped egg (optional).
