1/2 lb. ground beef (or chicken if you prefer) 1/4 c. chopped onion 1 1/2 c. water 1 (16 oz.) can diced tomatoes 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans....can use pintos 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/2 envelope taco seasoning mix 1 small avocado, chopped corn tortillas - sliced in strips cheese and sour cream
Brown meat with onions. Add other ingredients except avocado. Simmer for 20 - 30 minutes. Fry tortilla strips until crispy. Serve soup over tortillas. Top with avocado, cheese and sour cream.
