1 lb. hash brown potatoes (frozen)
1/2 stick butter (melted)
1/2 onion, chopped fine
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 (8oz.) sour cream
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup - shredded cheddar cheese

TOPPING:
1 C. mild cheddar cheese
1 C. crushed cornflakes
1/2 stick butter (melted)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine hash brown, butter,onion,soup,sour cream and cheese. Put in a baking dish.

2.Combine topping ingredience...cheese, cornflakes, and butter. Spread over first mixture.

Bake at 350 to 400 for 45 minutes.

You can cook this in a crock pot but I bake it in the oven for a crunchy topping; then transfer it to a crock pot in order to bring to parties.
