Ingredients: 3 cups Flour 1 teas. Nutmeg 1 cup butter (softened) 3/4 cup sugar 1 egg 2 teas. Vanilla 2 teas. Rum Flavoring

Directions: |
Directions:Shift together the dry ingredients and set aside. Cream the butter and sugar together. Blend in the egg, vanilla, and Rum flavoring. Gradually and the dry ingredients. Chill until you can handle the dough. Shape pieces of dough by rolling on a lightly floured surface into a long roll about a 1/2 inch diameter. Cut in 3 inch lengths. Bake on un-greased cookie sheets at 350º until cookies are golden brown. Cool.
Icing – Cream3 Tbl. Butter with ½ teas. Vanilla and 1 teas. Rum. Blend in ½ cup sifted powdered sugar. Keep beating and add 2 more cups sugar alternately with 2 to 3 Tbl cream. (total liquid, not each time you add it.) Continue beating until spreading consistency. Frost cooled cookies, run the tines of a fork over top of icing and sprinkle with ground nutmeg to make the cookies resemble logs. |
