1 pie crust

1 1/2 c sugar
6 T cornstarch
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 c water
2 T butter
2 tsp grated lemon peel
2/3 c lemon juice

2 - 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
3/4 c powdered sugar
1 1/2 c cool whip
1 T lemon juice

LEMON FILLING: Combine sugar, cornstarch & salt. Stir in water. Bring to a boil on medium heat. Reduce heat & stir for 2 minutes until thick & bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in butter and lemon peel. Stir in lemon juice. Cool about 1 hour.

CREAM CHEESE FILLING: Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Stir in cool whip and lemon juice. Refrigerate 1/2 c for garnish. Put rest of cream cheese mixture into shell. Top with lemon filling. Refrigerate overnight.
