1 c. oatmeal 2 c. boiling water 1/3 c. shortening 1/4 c. molasses 1 tbsp. salt 1/3 c. sugar 2 eggs, beaten 2 tbsp. yeast About 5 1/2 c. flour
Mix the first 6 ingredients together. Cool until lukewarm. Add 2 beaten eggs and 2 tbsp. yeast. Add 1 c. flour at a time up until 5 1/2 c. Let rise and punch down. Shape in balls and let rise. Bake at 350º F for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
