1/2 cup butter (not margarine), softened
1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese, softened
2 cups powered sugar (sift if its not fluffy, you may need more)
Vanilla powder (If you want your frosting a lighter color) or regular liquid vanilla to taste.
Lemon juice or milk if needed

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and cream cheese at medium speed until light and creamy. Add vanilla, then powdered sugar a little at a time. Beat after each addition of sugar. If necessary, add milk or lemon juice, continuing to beat until frosting is a spreading consistency. At this point you can add 1 cup of chopped pecans to your frosting if you want. Spread frosting between layers and on top and sides of cake.
