2 c. water
3/4 c. red hot candies
1/3 c. sugar
6 medium tart apples; peeled and quartered

Directions:
Directions:
In a large heavy sauce pan over medium heat, bring water, candies and sugar to a boil; stirring constantly until candies and sugar are completely dissolved. Reduce heat; carefully add apples. Cook, uncovered, until apples are tender. Cool slightly. With a slotted spoon, remove apples and place in a serving dish. If desired, let syrup continue cooking for a few minutes over medium heat to thicken just a little. Pour syrup over apples. Cover and refrigerate.
