8 c. chopped iceberg lettuce
3/4 c.purple onions, sliced
2 c. frozen green peas, thawed
1 - 6 oz. pkg. smoked ham, chopped*
3/4 c. mayonnaise
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp. sugar
1 c. cheddar cheese, shredded (or cheese of your choice)
2/3 c. tomatoes, sliced

Directions:
Directions:
Layer lettuce, onions, peas, ham (or bacon) in a trifle dish. *(May substitute real bacon bits or 8 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled for ham.)
Mix mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, and sugar to make dressing. Spread this over salad.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
When ready to serve, top with cheese and then tomatoes.
