2 tbsp butter, 1/4 cup flour, 2 cups cooked wild rice, 1/2 cup half and half, 1/2 cup grated carrots, 1 cup grated cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup minced onion, 4 cups chicken broth, 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tbsp sherry, 1/2 cup chopped ham. 3 tbsp slivered almonds

Directions:
Melt butter in saucepan. Saute onions until tender. Blend in flour, gradually add broth. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens slightly. Stir in rice and salt and simmer five minutes. Blend in half and half and sherry. Add carrots, ham, cheese and almonds. Heat to serving temp.
