2/3 cup shortening
1 3/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/4cups white sugar
1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cloves
3 eggs
3/4 tsp allspice
1 24oz. jar applesauce
1/4 tsp nutmeg
3 cups flour
1 3/4 tsp salt
1/3 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 cups raisins
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugar and eggs Add applesauce and mix well. Stir sifted dry ingredients into mixture. Blend in raisins and walnuts. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350
F for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
