2 c milk
4 c. coarse bread crumbs
1/4 c. butter, melted
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. raisins (optional)
1 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk to scalding and pour over coarse bread crumbs, allow to cool. Add butter, sugar, eggs, salt and cinnamon/nutmeg. Pour into a buttered 1 1/2 qt. casserole dish. Sit in pan of hot water (1" deep). Bake at 350 F for 1 hour or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
