1 c. softened shortening
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. water
2 eggs
2 c. self-rising flour

Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening, sugars, vanilla, water and eggs until light and fluffy. Add flour a cup at a time. Drop about 2 inches apart from teaspoon to a greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes or until golden brown

This is my "basic" recipe. You can add nuts/chocolate chips. The vanilla can be replaces with lemon/almond most any flavor you like. You do need to watch cooking time sometimes 10 minutes is to long depending on size of dropped dough.
