12 oz jar of homestyle brown gravy
1 1/2 pound ground beef
1 cup soft bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 beaten egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
dash pepper

Directions:
Directions:
measure 1/4 cup gravy and combine with ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, beaten egg 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper. Form into a loaf in shallow baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove from oven and drain fat. Spread 2-1/2 cups hot mashed potatoes over meat loaf. drizzle 1 T. melted butter over potatoes; garnish with paprika. bake 20 minutes longer. let stand 5 minutes. Heat remaining gravy and serve with meat loaf.

This is my nostalgic recipe .... because it reminds me of Shepard's Pie in the Springdale High School cafeteria ..... the only thing that I would eat!
