Ingredients:  
Flour, baking soda, salt, shortening, brown sugar, granulated sugar, 2 eggs, 1 cup nuts, 2 small packages of Chocolate chips, 2 cups of oatmeal, and vanilla.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together: 1 cup shortening, 3/4 cup br. sugar,, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 2 eggs one at at time.
Add: 1 1/2 cup flour , 1 t, baking soda, 1 t salt , 1 T hot water ,1 cup nuts, 2 packages semi-sweet chocolate chips, 2 cups oatmeal, and 1 t vanilla.

drop on cookie sheets and bake 8 minutes at 375
