5 lb apples
2 c sugar
1/2 stick butter (3/4 if you want it richer)
1 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Grease a 13 X 9 inch oblong pan well. Peel and slice apples. Put them in the pan and sprinkle with 1/2 c of the sugar. Dot with butter. Place the remaining ingredients for topping into a bowl and mix with fork until crumbled into pieces the size of peas. Press mixture on top of the apples. Bake at 350 for one hour or until apples are tender.
