1 pound unsalted butter
1 pound plus 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
6 oz. unsweetened chocolate
6 extra-large eggs
2 T real vanilla extract
2 c. sugar
1 c. flour, divided I C. for batter, C. for chips & nuts
1 T baking powder
1 tsp. kosher salt
3 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease & flour 13 X 18 X 1 inch sheet pan.

Melt together the butter, 1 pound choc. chips, and unsweetened chocolate on top of a double boiler. Cool slightly. Stir together the eggs, vanilla & sugar. Stir in warm chocolate mixture & cool to room temperature.

Stir together 1 C. flour, baking powder & salt. Add to cooled chocolate mixture. Toss the nuts & remaining 12 oz. of choc. chips with C. flour to coat. Then add to the chocolate batter. Pour into prepared pan.

Bake for 30 minutes, or until tester comes out clean. Halfway through baking time, rap the pan against oven shelf to allow air to escape from between the pan and the brownie dough. Do not over-bake! Cool thoroughly, refrigerate well and cut into squares.
