1 pound sweet potatoes
1 1/2 cooking apples
6 Tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 to 3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp nutmeg
1 Tbsp lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and thinly slice the sweet potatoes, peel, core, and slice the apples, butter a casserole and arrange alternate layer of sweet potatoes and apples, starting and finishing with sweet potatoes. Sprinkle each layer with salt, sugar, nutmeg and lemon juice and dot with the remaining butter. Set casserole on the lowest shelf of a preheated oven and cook at 400 for about 40 minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Serve from the casserole.
