1/2 lb. hot dogs cut in 1/2-inch pieces
2 16-oz. canned baked beans
1/2 c. catsup
1/2 c. water
1 T. prepared mustard
3/4 c. flour
1 T. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. cornmeal
1 egg, slightly beaten
2/3 c. milk
1/4 c. melted shortening or salad oil
1/3 c. minced onion

Combine hot dogs, baked beans, catsup, water and mustard and place in greased 13x9x2-inch pan.
Sift together, in large bowl, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix together egg, milk, melted shortening, minced onion and add all at once to dry ingredients; stir just to combine. Spoon over beans in baking dish. Bake in 400 for 35 to 40 minutes.
