2 eggs separated
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. milk
3 T. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
Variations:
Chocolate cream - add 3 T. cocoa and substitute lemon flavoring for vanilla
Banana cream - slice bananas over crust and then put in filling
Cherry cream - add 1 can drained dark pitted cherries to cooked filling

Beat egg yolks thoroughly. Add sugar and mix well. Add flour alternately with milk and mix well. Cook until thick and remove from stove. Add vanilla and allow to cool.

Make pie crust and cook until lightly browned. Add cooled cream filling to pie crust.

For meringue beat egg whites until stiff, gradually adding 2 T. sugar. Top pie with meringue and bake on low heat just until meringue is browned.
