2 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup white Karo syrup
1/2 cup hot water
About 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Boil till you see a few strings. While this mixture is boiling, beat 2 egg whites until stiff. SLOWLY pour the syrup mixture in the egg whites. Keep the bowl turning. Add any flavor of extract about one teaspoon, and a food coloring of your choice. Beat and stir till stand up consistency. Drop quickly by teaspoon on waxed paper. Work very fast so you have time to decorate with maraschino cherries (cut in half) or a pecan, top each piece.
