Ingredients:
1 c of self rising flour
1 c of whole wheat flour
1/3 c of sugar
1 pkg of quick rise yeast
1 c of 1% buttermilk
c of canola oil

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the self rising flour, 2/3 cup of the whole wheat flour, sugar and yeast. In a small saucepan, heat buttermilk and oil to 120-130 degrees (mixture will appear to curdle). Add to dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Stir in remaining whole wheat flour.

Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.

Roll dough into inch thickness and cut with a floured 2 inch biscuit cutter. (I just divided my dough into 18 pieces.) Place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 35-40 minutes. Bake 375 degrees for 8-12 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
