1 lb. green beans
6 tbsp. white sesame seeds
6 tbsp. shoyu
2 tbsp. sugar
5 tbsp. sweet mirin

Directions:
Directions:
Blanch green beans in boiling water for about 3 minutes. Cool quickly in cold water. Beans should still be crisp. Slice beans into bite size pieces. In a frying pan with no oil, toast sesame seeds until they begin to pop. Remove from heat and while seeds are still hot, transfer to a bowl and smash to release flavor. Mix sesame paste with shoyu, sugar, and mirin. Pour over beans. Serve chilled.

Shoyu is Hawaiian soy sauce. You may substitute soy sauce if you are unable to locate Shoyu.
