1 c. margarine or butter 1 c. sugar 1 c. powdered sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 4 c. flour
Cream first 4 ingredients. Add eggs and vanilla. Then add dry ingredients. Refrigerate 1 hour. Roll into 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar (colored if matching a holiday) and put on buttered cookie sheet. Press down gently with glass. Bake at 350º for 12 minutes. Don't let them get brown...10 minutes if smaller cookies.
