1/2 c. shoyu (soy sauce)
1/2 c. vinegar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. minced ginger
1 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
5 lb. chicken pieces (thighs with bone)
1/4 c. cornstarch

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine shoyu, vinegar, sugar, 1 c. water, ginger, and garlic. Marinate chicken in mixture for at least 2 hours. Put chicken and marinade into large pot; bring to a boil and simmer for about 40 minutes or until chicken is tender. Combine cornstarch and remaining 1/4 c. water. Stir into chicken mixture. Cook until mixture thickens.
