2 c brown sugar
1 c shortening
2 egg
2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda (dissolve in a little hot water)
2 c oatmeal
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream brown sugar, shortening and egg. In separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Mix sugar and flour mixtures together. Fold in oatmeal.
Drop cookies on baking sheet and cook for 10-15 minutes at 350-degrees.
