12 - 16 large fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons chopped green pepper
3 tablespoons chopped onion
1 1/4 cup fresh bread cubes
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wash mushrooms with damp cloth and remove stems. Set stems aside. Heat 3 tablespoons butter in large skilled. Saute mushroom caps only on bottom side down in skillet for 2-3 minutes. Remove and arrange rounded side down in shallow baking pan. Heat rest of butter in the same skillet and sauté chopped mushroom stems, green pepper and onion until tender. About 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in seasonings, bread and cheese. Fill mushroom caps and bake approximately 15 minutes.

3 slices of white bread cut into 1/4 inch cubes makes approximately 1 1/2 cups bread cubes.
This is a recipe that my Nana would make and she would always serve it with steak. Very tasty and I think of her every time I serve it.
