Ingredients:  
1 cup plain flour
˝ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon shortening
1/4-˝ cup milk
6 - 8 cups chicken broth

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and salt. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender or 2 forks until “pea-size”. Add milk. Work dough on a floured surface to form a flat ball. Roll out 1/8 inch thick. Rest dough. Cut into strips or 1-inch squares. Drop in boiling broth. Do not stir. (May add cream of chicken or cream of celery soup to broth. If so, cut back on salt).
Makes about 75 dumplings.
