3 eggs, beaten
1 cup oil
1 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk (dissolve 1 teaspoons baking soda in milk)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon nutmeg

Buttermilk Glaze:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk (dissolve 1/2 teaspoon soda)
1 tablespoon white syrup, Karo
3/4 stick butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
1 cup prunes, cut into pieces and cooked
1 cup nuts, chopped

Mix together eggs, oil and sugar. Add buttermilk and soda mixture. Mix dry ingredients. Add to wet ingredients. Add prunes and nuts. Bake in 2 layers in greased and waxed paper lined round cake pans, in tube pan or 9X13-inch sheet cake pan. Bake at 300 for 45 minutes. Drizzle cake with Buttermilk Glaze.

Buttermilk Glaze:
Stir ingredients in saucepan. Boil 1 minute and pour over warm cake.
