1 cups boiling water
1 stick butter
1 cup quick cooking oats
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/3 cups plain flour (may use self-rising flour, omit salt and soda)

Topping:
1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 small can evaporated milk
1 cup pecan pieces
1 cup flaked coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over butter and oats. Let stand 20 minutes, covered. Add sugars and eggs, then add remaining dry ingredients which have been mixed or sifted together. Pour into greased 9x13-pan. Bake 35 minutes at 350. Frost while warm.

Topping:
Combine ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook 1 minute. Spread on warm cake.
